Charles spent 30 years as a police officer, mostly investigating serious crime or terrorism. His last posting was representing the UK as a Counter Terrorism Liaison Officer at Europol, a post that was surprisingly similar to his role at the IPO- building trust, developing relationships and coordinating multi-agency action.

Charles has been with the IPO since the start of their 2022-2027 Counter Infringement Strategy. He was one of three, now four coordinators, brought onboard to work with law Enforcement in the regions, to increase awareness and action on IP Crime.
